New to the Great Bear Chase weekend this year are 10 and 25k snow bike races.  Not only that, we’re declaring the 25k race the Midwest Snow Bike Championships. Ski on Saturday, bike on Sunday! Contested on the same course as the previous day’s ski marathon, the trails should be hard and fast. Come March, however, anything is possible  in the Keweenaw with respect to the weather. The 10k race shares part of the 25k course and is a great way to experience snow bike racing without committing to 25k.

Please note: to minimize trail damage caused by bikes, the snow bike race is open only to full-fledged snow bikes, i.e., with a minimum tire width of 3.5”. Snow bikes are not generally permitted on the Swedetown Ski Trails. This race marks the one day of the season that fat-bike bikers may ride the trails.

Age divisions:
25k: under 40 & 40+
10k: under 40 & 40+
